My One Month Blog Update (hard work and results driven)

I cannot believe today marks blogging for one month and the time for me to write my one month blog update.

Please check out my first blog post here.

I have to say blogging is much harder than I thought. And it is a little lonely. But on a brighter note, it is a little funny and I’m being consistent.

Sometimes I look back at what I wrote or a post I made for Instagram and just laugh.

I’m no graphic designer but I’m really trying to get out there and reach the world.

For those of you that are following me from the beginning, you will probably see many changes in this blog as I mature and keep learning.

But back to trying to reach the world…

Had I known then, what I know now about life, how different my life would be.

Those lessons I genuinely want to share with the world.

Especially read every day, drink lots of water, invest early, and invest often.

And my one month blogging update is not quite what I thought it would be.

It’s like…I have all of these good ideas and want to connect with people but the people just aren’t there.

I have had some people follow me, to unfollow me after I follow them. That seems shady. It’s free to support and lift each other up. Please don’t do this.

Well, I guess it’s going to take a minute for the world to see that I am real and genuine through the eyes of Google or Instagram and I need to be a little more patient.

OK.

This month’s blogger crush:

My blogging journey started with a blogger crush on Michelle from Making Sense of Cents.

Michelle’s blog posts sounded like I was talking to my best friend. She was upfront about blogging and in my niche…personal finance.

But I missed something because it is so much harder than what I thought it would be.

You have to do keyword research and stay engaged almost every day for at least an hour.

But my goal is still to be like Michelle and offer a solution to the problems that my readers have.

My one month blog goals:

So this past month, I wasn’t able to reach my goals.

I wanted to have:

  1. 4 blog posts
  2. 100 followers on Instagram
  3. 5 email subscribers
  4. A freebie

My one month blog update:

  1. 68 instagram followers
  2. 0 email subscribers
  3. 3 blog posts
  4. 1 freebie

It’s comical. Hahaha. Almost there.

Oh well, I keep pressing on. It’s time to take my game up a level.

For my next month blogging update, I have my first freebie…a budgeting tool. I’m hoping to connect with more people and be able to provide a real solution to a real problem.

Because…who doesn’t need a budgeting worksheet?

First, it’s free.

Second, it’s simple and quick to do.

And third, I don’t think you can achieve financial freedom without a budgeting tool.

Lifestyle inflation, the idea of making more money and spending more money, is real.

We all need a plan and a budgeting tool will do just that.

So while I didn’t necessarily reach my blogging goals for this 1 month blog update, I do still see a bright future blogging and connecting with the world through social media platforms.

To touch just one individual, touches the world and I know that I will make a difference.

My next month blog goals:

  1. Be a guest on a podcast
  2. Write 4 blog posts
  3. Post on Instagram 6 days a week
  4. Start a pinterest page to drive traffic to my blog
  5. Finish the blogging course I enrolled in 6 months ago
  6. Find a Facebook blogging community for support

I think reaching these goals will take more planning on my part, but I can do it.

I’m also going to work on my budgeting spreadsheet but I don’t know if I will get through it all because I want it to be thorough and tested.

I’m very excited to be a blogger and even though my one month blogging update isn’t quite where I want it to be, I know I will get there.

As with anything we do, consistency, persistence, and dedication is key.

I do see some fruits to my hard work and focusing on the results to drive my goals is important.

I hope that all of you continue to reach out and stay connected to the world through blogging and social media.

Let’s connect on Instagram. We have so much to teach each other.

Are there any other bloggers out there to comment on where they were for their one month blog update. Please comment below. Hurry up, I’m waiting.

Happy Budgeting and Blogging,

Theresa
